Sanborn Map Collection
Scope and Contents
The Huntsville Sanborn Map Collection contains Sanborn maps of the Huntsville area from 1885, 1896, 1930, and 1912. The Sanborn maps from 1912 are in a bounded book, and the other Sanborn maps are loose copies.
The collection also contains a scanned and printed copy of the "Description and Utilization of The Sanborn Map," a narrative of the history, development, and use of Sanborn maps. Lastly, the collection contains "From Sanborn Fire Maps" notes on fire departments and water facilities.
