The Sam Houston State University (SHSU) student directories were published yearly from 1930 to 2000. They contain the contact information of students, faculty, and key university support services. The directories additionally contain advertisements for local establishments and, depending on the year, elements such as coupons, calendars of important campus dates, and information of extracurricular clubs at SHSU.

Early editions are attributed to the Sam Houston State Teachers College (SHSTC) Department of Public Service, the SHSTC Print Shop and Student Directory Personeel, or the SHSTC Printing Department. By 1957, the Pica Club, established for printing majors, had taken over publication. They remained in charge of the student directories until 1977, when no directory was published, and the next year, 1978, the Graphic Society took over publication. By the 1990s, the directories were sponsored by the Student Government Association.

The collection does not contain directories from 1931 to 1934, as a result of Great Depression Era, or from 1980 to 1996. It additionally does not contain the 1953-1954 publication; however, adjacent publications partially covering these years are available.
