Biographical / Historical

Born in Houston, Texas on April 30, 1942, Richard Dylan 'Ricardo' Ross first trained to be a professional wrestler. However, a terrible accident forced him to change course and lean into his talents as an artist. After being hit by a train in the 1960s, Ross began his artistic career, quickly becoming a notable Texan pen and ink artist. His works were influenced by the many cities and states he lived in (Houston, El Paso, San Antonio, Seattle, Washington) as well as his service in the US Marine Corps. He was the official artist of the 1968 Hemisphere and his artwork is owned by tens of thousands of people all over the world, including Presidents of nations. Ross died on November 28, 2007 at the age of 65 in Austin, Texas.
