Biographical / Historical
Daisy Lauretta Smith, born 1893 in Kansas, was a student of Sam Houston Normal Institute (SHNI), class of 1919. She went on to earn her B.S. from SHNI in 1922 and an M.A. from Peabody in 1934. Smith taught for 43 years in the Houston Independent School District.
Daisy Smith died June 1979, in Houston, Texas.
