The Carnaval De Huejotzingo Collection contains the art work of Fernando Ramirez Osorio. The majority of the artwork is large poster sized prints that have been autographed by Osorio. The poster prints are individually numbered and packaged in large Carnaval De Huejotzingo commemorative envelopes. A complete set includes five poster prints and the collection contains five complete sets. One set has been framed and is displayed on the first floor of the Newton Gresham Library. The collection also includes pamphlets relating to Fernando Ramirez Osorio’s art and flyers for the Carnaval De Huejotzingo. The Carnaval De Huejotzingo collection was given to SHSU Special Collections by William J. Breitenbach, a professor of Art at Sam Houston State University. Photographs taken by William J. Breitenbach of the 2007 Carnaval De Huejotzingo festival relating to the collection are located in the Newton Gresham Library’s Digital Resources department.
