The Galveston Documents Collection contains correspondence, photographs, tourist information, programs, publications, and newspapers. The Galveston Documents Collection was processed from a vertical file. It focuses on Galveston, Texas in general, as well as the infamous 1900 Storm.

The Galveston Papers contain correspondence related to a missing package or article. The recipient’s name on the correspondence is Iola and it is written on Galveston News letterhead. There is an included transcription of the correspondence. The papers also include ledger documents that are illegible and a small map of Galveston, Texas.

The East Texas Folk Festival is the predecessor to the General Sam Houston Folk Festival; the name was changed in 1989.

The collection consists of materials, such as papers, publications, and photographs, owned or related to Dr. George J. Beto throughout his life and long career in criminal justice. The collection was compiled and donated to the SHSU Special Collections by George Beto's son, Dan Beto.
