From the Collection:

The materials in this collection are composed of two boxes.

Box 1 is composed of Charles Lee Hill's scrapbook and photographs of the musical group "The Houstonians."

Box 2 is composed of biographical materials and photographs about Charles Lee Hill's life and music career. As well as biographical materials about his grandfather W.T. Hill's life and time spent in the American Civil War as a Confederate officer.

Folder 2 provides photographs of The Good Times Brass Band, a band Charles Lee Hill was the director.

Physical Description

1983 Photographs:

The black and white photograph is of Charles Lee Hill conducting The Good Times Brass Band in Bellaire, Texas. Two color photographs of Charles Lee Hill conducting for the Houston Festival in Downtown Houston in April 1983.

1984 Photographs:

Each photograph is in color and of The Good Times Brass Band performing. The first photograph is the band performing in Rice Village, Houston. The second photograph, the band is playing for the Outdoor Antique Collectibles Show in Houston, Texas, in April 1984. The third photograph is of Charles Lee Hill conducting a Stephen F. Austin Concert Band for the Concert in the Park in Nacogdoches, Texas, in May 1984. The last photograph is of Charles Lee Hill conducting the band (location or event unknown).

1986 Photographs:

There are three black and white photographs. Two photographs are of Charles Lee Hill conducting and posing with The Good Times Band at the Association of Concert Bands National Conference in Houston, Texas, at the Ramada Hotel in March 1986. The last photograph is of Charles Lee Hill conducting at the Bellaire Antique Show on Bellaire Boulevard on May 1986.

One color photograph of a headshot of Charles Lee Hill when he was 73 years old. One color photograph of The Good Times Brass Band as a group.
