The materials in this collection are composed of two boxes.

Box 1 is composed of Charles Lee Hill's scrapbook and photographs of the musical group "The Houstonians."

Box 2 is composed of biographical materials and photographs about Charles Lee Hill's life and music career. As well as biographical materials about his grandfather W.T. Hill's life and time spent in the American Civil War as a Confederate officer.

There are three photocopies of different articles. Two articles are from magazines and one is from a newspaper.

The magazine articles are from different magazines. The article "Jazz Composition Premiered After A 34-Year Interim" is from The School Musician magazine by Col. George S. Howard, USAF (Ret.), published in August/September 1979. The article discusses Charles Lee Hill's musical career concerning his compositions of "A Serenade to Britain" and "At The Gremlin's Ball." The article is stapled and is two pages.

The magazine article "Charles Lee Hill and the Good Times Brass Band" is from Band: The Magazine for Community Bands, Volume 1, No. 2. and was published in the Summer of 1987. The article provides brief information about The Good Times Brass Band's history, the history of American town bands, Charles Lee Hill's musical career, and his contribution to The Good Times Brass Band.

The newspaper article "The Last time we saw the March King" by Charles Lee Hill is from the Houston Post-feature page published on October 21, 1988. The article discusses John Philip Sousa, a famous conductor Charles Lee Hill saw conduct when he was seventeen.
