Biographical / Historical

Anna J. Hardwicke Pennybacker visited Sam Houston State Teachers College to accept the college's invitation to introduce First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt to the college and to accept an honorary membership into the college's chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the national honorary English fraternity.

First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt addressed members of the college and the city of Huntsville on Sunday, March 7, 1937.
