Physical Description
This correspondence is addressed to the American Association of University Professors from William E. Painter, Professor of History, President of the American Association of Univesity Professors Chapter, Sam Houston State Teachers College.
William E. Painter writes to the American Association of University Professors in Washington D.C. He addresses the association stating he and Rupert C. Koeninger are concerned with the association's delay in getting an investigation underway. Painter mentions Koeninger has a good chance of retaining his position if the Board of Regents are made fully aware of the situation. Painter writes that Dr. Fidler mentions time is important concerning this matter and stalling techniques will be used, but the American Association of College Teachers will not permit such tactics to delay the case.
Painter writes he is disapponinted in the association for not pushing the investigation along espeicially since the Texas Assocaition of College Teachers has done an investigation and reported its findings.
Painter mentions on April 22nd Dr. Kenneth Russell (Professor of Education and member of the Executive Committee of the association's Sam Houston chapter) will stop by the association's main office to call on members, mostly like Mr. Van Waes. On April 25th Koeninger will stop by the association's main office.
