Physical Description

The "General Matters--Political Activity" document mentions college employees have a right to and an obligation to exercise their political beliefs. The document states the Board of Regents is not allowed to affect the political thinking of any employee and they are free from institutional censorship or discipline. Employees are required to make it clear when exercising their political beliefs that they are not tied with any institution, but are of the indvidual's own belief. This part of the document was copied from "Rules and Regulations Covering Organization Of And Procedure Before the Board of Regents Of The State Teachers Colleges of Texas, May, 1949."

The second page provides an exerpt from the "Minutes of the Board of Regents of State Teachers Colleges of Texas" on May 4-6, 1961 in Austin, Texas. The excerpt is over the motion of Regent Gresham and seconded by Regent Mills, that Dr. Lowman has assured the Board he will not recommend Dr. Rueprt C. Koeninger for employment after the 1961-1962 academic year.
