Samuel P. Carson Collection
Scope and Contents
The Samuel P. Carson Papers (1827 - 1913; one folder) includes biographical information and correspondence with military officials. The biographical data looks extensively into the life of Carson, most of which are reminisces of Silas Dowell. These manuscripts were left by Dowell as “material or history to be written by a future generation”. The correspondence is mainly between Carson and military officials. There is also an extract from “A history of the Presbyterian churches at Quaker Meadows, North Carolina.”
