Immediate Source of Acquisition

The photographs and letter correspondence within this collection were donated by E.M. Edwards. The email correspondence and article were added to the collection by Barbara Kievit-Mason, Sam Houston State University Archivist.

Existence and Location of Originals

The collection is mentiond to have twenty-six black and white photographs. Twenty of these mentioned photographs have been located as of May 23, 2018. Of the located twenty photographs three are within the Sam Houston Memorial Museum Collection and the rest (seventeen photographs) are within the Sam Houston State University Archives, as the E.M. Edwards Photographs Collection. The remaining photographs have not been located.

The original correspondence of E.M. Edwards, Anna Loring, and Mr. Estill are held at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, while the photocopies are held within the University Archives within this collection

Three photographs within the collection are held at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum since 2015. The original correspondence of E.M. Edwards, Anna Loring, and Mr. Estill are held at the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. The photocopies of the correspondence are within the University Archives in this collection.
