This collection is composed of three black and white matted photographs of Maude Alexandra Noyes' (Miller) time at Sam Houston Normal Institue. The collection originally had four photographs, but one is missing.

Biographical / Historical

Muade Alexandra Noyes was from Lampasas, Texas, and was born in 1879. Maude attended Sam Houston Normal Institute from the late 1890s to the early 1900s and received her First Grade Certificate, 1899-1900. During her time at SHNI, she stayed in a boarding house owned by the Branch family. She later married Fernando Miller.

Maude Alexandra Noyes Miller died in 1959 following the death of her husband, Fernando Miller, 1869-1942. They are both buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lampasas, Texas.
