Gibbs Brothers Account Book
The Gibbs Brothers Account Book was used to record daily transactions from December 1854 through February 1855. The ledger is unbound and in very fragile condition. The book was donated to the Texas Room of the Estill Library, Sam Houston State Teachers College, by Dr. J.L. Clark on April 3, 1962. See also the Gibbs Family Papers.

Jane Howe Gregory Papers
The items in this collection represent Jane Howe Gregory’s extensive research into the Texas Penitentiary system, primarily focusing on issues surrounding female inmates. Journal articles, class notes, and prison records are the most common types of materials in this collection. Prison statistics and prison reforms pertaining to female prisoners are the most common themes.
