Scope and Contents
The materials in this collection are composed of two boxes.
Box 1 is composed of Charles Lee Hill's scrapbook and photographs of the musical group "The Houstonians."
Box 2 is composed of biographical materials and photographs about Charles Lee Hill's life and music career. As well as biographical materials about his grandfather W.T. Hill's life and time spent in the American Civil War as a Confederate officer.

Biographical / Historical
The 1949 Alcalde Coronation Ball was at Sam Houston State Teachers College's CC Gymnasium on December 11, 1948, at 8:00 pm. "The Houstonians" performed at the Coronation Ball.
The Homecoming Dance of 1948 was at Sam Houston State Teachers College's Men's Gym at 8:00 pm. The event was sponsored by the SHSTC’s "T" Association and was open to current and past students and the public. Tickets to the dance were one dollar for a couple or stag (solo). This was the first time "The Houstonians" performed at an SHSTC Homecoming dance.

Physical Description
The tan sheet has the program in the center and the newspaper article clipping to the right. The program is white with black text. The program is for the 1949 Alcalde Coronation Ball at Sam Houston State Teachers College with "The Houstonians" for music.
The newspaper article clipping, "Sponsor Annual Homecoming Dance," has the subtitle "Sweet, Hot Music Will Be Furnished By Houstonians" and was published on Saturday, November 16, 1949. The article discusses "The Houstonians" will be performing at the Homecoming Dance along with some of their music features.
