Scope and Contents
This collection is composed of photocopied materials with a few originals concerning Charles Pebworth's art career. The materials consist of newspaper articles, exhibit materials, postcards, pamphlets, awards, and letters donated by Charles and Nona Pebworth.

Biographical / Historical
Gene Eastman and Rodney Frew were both art faculty members at Sam Houston State University. Eastman, Frew, and Pebworth, at one point, all lived together.
Gene Eastman was a professor and chair for the Art Department at Sam Houston State University and a visiting professor with the Houston Fine Arts Museum School. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing and Painting at the University of Kansas and his Master of Arts in Painting at the University of Iowa. Eastman has also received additional studies from the Art Institute of Chicago and has participated in many regional and national exhibitions.

Physical Description
The front of the sleeve has a letter addressed to Charles Pebworth from David Gockley from the Houston Grand Opera. David Gockley expresses his thanks to Pebworth for his contribution to the Houston Opera in designing the poster and program cover for the opera "Bilby's Doll."
The back of the sleeve has the newspaper article "Art Floating Figurehead." The article discusses Charles Pebworth's wooden sculptures "Remembrance," "In Place of Man," and "Portrait."
