Harry Fishburne Estill was the president of Sam Houston Normal Institute at this time.
The colors of the Insitute were yellow and white until 1924 when the primary colors became orange and white.

The Sam Houston Normal Institute Commencement Program is from the commencement exercises of 1914. The program is tan with dark tan text and bounded by a yellow and white string. The cover has the State of Texas seal. The program provides a schedule of commencement events, commencement day exercise schedules, the joint session of societies prize contest in story-telling and debate, and the class roll.
