Scope and Contents
This collection is composed of four viewbooks - three from Sam Houston Normal Institute and one from Sam Houston State Teachers College. The viewbooks provide black-and-white photographs and written information about SHNI/SHSTC.

One of these view books was donated to the University Archives by Karen N. McCain from Bedford, Texas, on July 18, 2019.
Physical Description
The Sam Houston Normal Institute view book has twelve pages of black and white photographs showcasing the Institue and its students. The booklet also provides written information about the history of the Institute, the location, and health of Huntsville, faculty members, courses of instruction, certificates and diplomas, and summer school.
Among the photographs not of SHNI are General Sam Houston, General Sam Houston's gravesite, the Huntsville High School, Henry Carr Pritchett, George Peabody, Joseph Baldwin, Texas Governor Oran Roberts, J.L.M. Curry, Henry Fishburne Estill (president of the SHNI), the administration building and grounds of the Penitentiary, the churches of Huntsville, and Lake State Farm
