Morris Collection of Legal Documents

Scope and Contents

The Morris Collection of Legal Documents (1859-1882; .5 box) consists mainly of deeds for the sale of land in the states of Texas, Missouri and Tennessee. There is also a bill of sale for a horse in Atascosa County. A Protective and Detective certificate registering a horse owned by Dr. F. I. Morris is a part of this collection. There is also a letter discharging William P. Thomas from the service of the United States. This collection was acquired on October 1, 1971.

Music Sheet Collection

The Music Sheet Collection was collected overtime by various Special Collections librarians and staff. Various pieces were also donated by Jan Cole and pulled from the Mae Wynne McFarland Collection before it was processed. Jan Cole is the niece of John W. Thomason, the room’s namesake.

Nixon White House Legal Briefs Collection

The collection is composed of a Brief in Opposition of the subpoena issued to Richard Nixon, a Reply Brief that highlights the key points in the Brief in Support, a Brief in Opposition to Plaintiff’s Motion for Summary Judgement, and a thesis by Harry Edward Casey, titled “Executive Privilege and the White House Tapes Dispute”.
