The materials span from January 1942- July 1945 and focus on Sam Houston State Teachers College ex-students/alumni, faculty, and community members who fought in World War II.
SHSU Centennial Memorabilia Photograph Prints
This collection is composed of thirty-two photograph reprints done by Weston McCoy for the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association for their contribution to the Centennial Memorabilia Collection celebrating SHSU's 100 years.
These reprints feature the early days of SHSU when it was Sam Houston Normal Institute and Sam Houston State Teachers College.
SHSU Pebworth Collection
This collection is composed mainly of exhibit materials from the 1960s - 2000s. The collection also houses biographical materials about Charles and Nona Pebworth and newspaper and magazine articles.
SHSU Presidents-Thomason Materials
This collection contains correspondence between various parties, including past presidents of Sam Houston State University (and prior names), librarians, and Mrs. John W. Thomason. The correspondence focuses on materials donated to Sam Houston State University’s rare books room. The rare books room is currently named for John W. Thomason, Jr. and houses the Sam Houston State University Special Collections.
SHSU View Book Collection
This collection is composed of four viewbooks - three from Sam Houston Normal Institute and one from Sam Houston State Teachers College. The viewbooks provide black-and-white photographs and written information about SHNI/SHSTC.
