The materials in this collection are composed of two boxes.

Box 1 is composed of Charles Lee Hill's scrapbook and photographs of the musical group "The Houstonians."

Box 2 is composed of biographical materials and photographs about Charles Lee Hill's life and music career. As well as biographical materials about his grandfather W.T. Hill's life and time spent in the American Civil War as a Confederate officer.

Scope and Contents The May Benson Lyle Scrapbook contains Fifty-six (front and back) unnumbered pages with forty-nine black and white photographs (one each on the front and back covers of the scrapbook) recording May Benson Lyle's time as a student at Sam Houston Normal Institute from 1905-1908. The images in the scrapbook are of campus buildings such as Austin Hall, Old Main Building, and the Peabody Memorial Library. The Robert W. Nelson Photographs contains ten black and white photographs circa 1918-1923 of prominent Huntsville sites including early Sam Houston Normal Institute buildings, Sam Houston's Woodland Home, and the fourth Walker County Courthouse. It additionally contains a photograph of two women posing by the side of the Old Main Building.
