Scope and Contents

The Newspaper Collection consists mainly of Texas newspapers as well as several titles from other states. Also represented are Centennial and Civil War Newspapers. The Newspaper collection includes both original and copied versions.

Scope and Contents The Texas Centennial Collection (1934-1937; 11 boxes) contains newspapers from various Texas newspapers in celebration of 100 years of Texas independence. This collection is primarily comprised of newspaper clippings and press releases. There are newspaper clippings, as well as full editions of local Texas newspapers. There is a large number of press releases from the Texas Centennial Commission chronicling the different events surrounding the Texas Centennial celebration in 1936-1937. The...
