Sam Houston State Teachers College Scrapbook
The scrapbook, complied by Sam Houston Normal Institute and Sam Houston State Teachers College faculty member Augusta Lawrence, is comprised of 117 pages of newspaper clippings, photographs, and printed materials covering faculty changes, community deaths, notable events, and ex-student/alumni and faculty/staff accomplishments from 1929-1940.

This scrapbook contains materials spanning March 1929-Febuary 1930 related to Sam Houston State Teacher’s College (SHSTC) Semi-Centennial Celebration, the Dedication and Formal Opening of the Harry F. Estill Library, and the Dedication of the Sam Houston Memorial Museum. It contains newspaper articles from regional newspapers, programs, ads, letters, telegrams, poems, and other paper material.

Box 2 is composed of biographical materials and photographs about Charles Lee Hill's life and music career. As well as biographical materials about his grandfather W.T. Hill's life and time spent in the American Civil War as a Confederate officer.
