"1,100 Students Sam Houston Normal Institute Dr. H.E. Estill, President Huntsville, Texas - July 13, 1920, Photograph by Schlater's Studio" is written on the photograph in white marker. Throughout the photograph, people's names are written in cursive and purple ink next to their face.
"Photo of Students Huntsville Normal College" is written on the back of the photograph in cursive and pencil.
