Scope and Contents
This collection is comprised of 21 pages of scrapbook material, six Sam Houston State Teachers College (SHSTC) event programs, two pages of sheet music, a 1986 Bearkat Football Magazine, a poster, a framed photograph, and a lithograph of Old Main.
The scrapbook contains newspaper article clippings, programs, photographs, and correspondences relating to the 1980 Ex-Lettermen Association Hall of Honor Induction Banquet.

Biographical / Historical
Patrica Ann Daw (Kelly) was born on April 1, 1936, to parents Fred William and Effie Irene Kelly. Her nickname was Patsy. Patricia married Kenneth Wayne Daw. They were married for fifty-three years. Patrica received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Sam Houston State Teacher's College (SHSTC, now Sam Houston State University). She taught first grade in Port Neches, Clear Lake, Edna, and Humble until she received her Masters in Education from SHSU and became an elementary school counselor. She retired from Humble ISD in 1996 with 39 years of experience. She died on August 2, 2017 in Kingswood Texas at the age of 81.
Kenneth Wayne Daw was born on August 26, 1935 in Baytown, Texas. Kenneth played football at Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas, where he was a three-letterman to the all-district team. Before coming to SHSTC, he lettered in football at Del Mar Junior College and continued his letterman career at SHSTC for the 1955 season. Kenneth Daw was number 69 on the Sam Houston State Teachers College football team. He played on the team for the 1955 and 1956 seasons as a guard, linebacker, and defensive captain and was part of the All-Lone Star Conference. He was a physical education major at SHSTC.
At the time of Kenneth Daw's induction into the Hall of Honor, he was employed by the Regional IV Educational Service Center. In 1981, he became the president of the Ex-Lettermen's Association. During his life Kenneth also worked as a coach, PE teacher, driver’s education teacher in Baytown, League city, Edna, Humble, and Klein ISD, where he was also employed as transportation supervisor. After he retired, he continued supporting the area schools as a fund-raiser and sales representative for Profit Plus. He died on March 6, 2014 in Humble, Texas at the age of 78.
Harold Harrington, also featured in this collection, was born on September 29, 1934. He played high school football at Stephen F. Austin in Houston, Texas, where he lettered for three years. He attended SHSTC as a physical education major and eventually obtained a Masters degree in Education. Harrington was number 77 on the SHSTC football team. His nickname was "Happy Jack" or "Hap" for short. He played on the team for the 1954-1957 seasons as an offensive tackle. He served as prinical of McAllen High School and superintentent of Tomball ISD. In 1992, he was elected mayor of the City of Tomball and served 5 three-year terms. In 1990, he was honored as Tomball's citizen of the year. He died at the age of 81 on May 17, 2016.
Kenneth Daw and Harold Harrington were on the 1956 undefeated Sam Houston State Teachers College football team, the only team to this day to go undefeated for an entire season. Both were inducted into the Ex-Lettermen's Association, T-Club Hall of Honor.
