Mae Wynne McFarland Research Collection
Scope and Contents
The collection is divided into five series: Series 1: Personal Correspondence contains letters, postcards, holiday cards, newspaper clippings,invitations, programs, receipts, and photographs. Series 2: Walker County/ Huntsville History includes correspondence, binders and journals of handwritten notes, typed notes, recipes, family trees, newspaper clippings, notes concerning marriage records and land records, census records, and the history of Cincinnati and the Yellow Fever epidemic. Series 3: Texas History includes Civil War History, with materials such as programs, handwritten notes,information on various Texas counties, newspaper clippings, yearbooks, brochures, receipts,correspondence, music books, periodicals, binders, and spiral notebooks filled with notes about Texas history. Series 4: War of 1812 contains extensive handwritten notes on loose papers. Series 5: Women and Charitable Organizations contains booklets, magazines, correspondence, and handwritten notes.

The Mae Wynne McFarland Research Collection is housed in thirty-four archival boxes and one oversized flat box. The collection also contains 109 books located within the Thomason Room and in the Main collection.
