Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Huntsville Sanborn Map Collection contains Sanborn maps of the Huntsville area from 1885, 1896, 1930, and 1912. The Sanborn maps from 1912 are in a bounded book, and the other Sanborn maps are loose copies. The collection also contains a scanned and printed copy of the "Description and Utilization of The Sanborn Map," a narrative of the history, development, and use of Sanborn maps. Lastly, the collection contains "From Sanborn Fire Maps" notes on fire departments and water...

The majority of this collection contains materials from the Sam Houston State University KSHU Radio Station. Other materials include a Sam Houston State College Homecoming football program, Delta Zeta photocopied articles, an Alpha Phi Sigma certificate, paper materials from Sam Houston State University (event tickets and the College of Arts and Media magazine), and materials about the City of Huntsville.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The May Benson Lyle Scrapbook contains Fifty-six (front and back) unnumbered pages with forty-nine black and white photographs (one each on the front and back covers of the scrapbook) recording May Benson Lyle's time as a student at Sam Houston Normal Institute from 1905-1908. The images in the scrapbook are of campus buildings such as Austin Hall, Old Main Building, and the Peabody Memorial Library.
